No Matter What
Caroline Fitzgerald Monson
Founder
My brother Sean and I were close; being there as a pillar of support for each other during trying times, reminding each other that “I love you no matter what.” He was funny and full life, but he went dark on many days, expressing concerns about his mental health, feeling numb and barely making it through the day before he tragically took his own life. As I grieve, I could not but think about the many people who are going through the same experience of isolation, loneliness, depression, and probably suicidal ideations. More so, these are adverse life and mental health events that have been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. I formed No Matter What as a non-profit to bring help to as many of these people as possible. In partnership with Des Moines community, we have created a platform to provide and connect at-risk youths to helping resources.
